This grand town house, located in the centre of Perth in Scotland, was sold to the Earl of Gowrie shortly after its construction by the Countess of Huntly in 1520.

It was at Gowrie house in 1600 that the  ‘Gowrie Conspiracy’ took place. This was a plot to murder king James VI but resulted in the death of the Earl of Gowrie and his brother. Ownership then fell to the Earl of Kinnoull who entertained King Charles 2nd here in 1663.

It was later used as a cavalry barracks and finally demolished in 1807.
