Saxon Raiders
Germanic tribes of farmer-warriors had long been making raids into Britain toward the end of the Roman occupation and once the Romans finally departed these tribes migrated from Europe to claim the land for themselves. Eventually the smaller of these tribes were either driven out or were merged into the two biggest groups which were the Angles and the Saxons.
There were many battles and skimishes between tribes during this period but when things finally began to calm the occupying settlers were known as the Anglo-Saxons and the land they settled into was known as Angle-land or England.
